leaving on a jet plane.

i am leaving my beloved Asia tonight at 2 am (so technically tomorrow) and it tears me apart to do so. i have had an incredible summer; a roller-coaster ride of sorts and i loved almost every minute of it. it pains me to think that as my final year of Uni beckons, this may have been my very last summer vacation. sigh, Xmas Break just cannot come sooner! i am mentally preparing myself for these next 3 months through the gruesome British climate and overall atmosphere. so long sweet summer; so long KL

i will possess your heart.

how i wish you could see the potential
the potential of you and me
it's like a book elegantly bound
but in a language you can't read just yet

you gotta spend some time love
you gotta spend some time with me
and i know that you'll find love

i will possess your heart

dancelife.

lately i've been ridiculously nostalgic ---- of my dancing days. i went to my school earlier this week, to witness yet even more changes to the edifice and to meet my old dance coach for a hot cup of tea and a much needed catch-up session. walking into the same dance room where i spent a good proportion of my teenage life and watching fresh, young and confused pre-teens (including my sister!) stumbling in to develop their own passion for dance made me tear up. during their practice i helped them with their moves and perfected their technique which re-instigated my desire to dance that i had shut myself to since i left school. oh how much i miss dance, choreographing, finding the rhythm of the music within me, the stage, performing, costumes, stage make-up, waiting with anxiety back-stage, the whole shabang! it's been a little over two years since i last stepped onto a stage. at this point it's not even about performing anymore as it is about geting to dance; learning choreography and moving every muscle in me till i collapse from exhaustion (and my lack of exercise along with a deteriorating stamina!).

i've decided that this year when i go back to Uni, i'm for sure looking into some dance schools and dance classes in Birmingham that i can go to a couple days a week. what used to be my entire life, my escape is not even an afterthought anymore and i'd really really like to change that. especially when an escape is what i need the most back in BirmingHELL.

gisele does india.

i love it! i love when celebrities from the West dress up in Indian attire; it's stunning. much like Gisele in the September issue of Vogue India. pretty pretty!

"I like the combination of traditional Indian clothing with an edge -- and the fabrics and colours are beautiful"

Gisele Bundchen stepped into stunning ensembles from India's leading designers, Tarun Tahiliani, Suneet Varma, Anamika Khanna and Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

september.

amid all my excitement and bliss over Bali, i barely noticed the start of September. which means Uni begins in just about a month (my final year! ohdeargod!) and i must return to the ever warm and sunny UK in another week. my bubble has been burst! it's the end of yet another summer vacation. kill me now. there is a whole lot waiting to be dealt with upon my return; looking for a flat, organizing refunds and such from my place last year, tax returns, etc. a big big headache! thinking of Xmas Break back in Asia is what's keeping me from going completely insane, especially since i'll be able to stay well into Jan this year rather than rushing back within the first couple of days after New Years. yay!

on a completely random note, i turn twenty one in 3 months!

bali.

i had an incredibly enchanting weekend in the very beautiful Bali, Indonesia. it was one of those moments that left me wondering why on earth i left Southeast Asia in the first place?! England is such a hole in comparison! and to think that after spending 10 years in this region, i've only visited a handful of places. the natural beauty, the people; their generosity, cheerfulness and craftsmanship, the FOOD and spiritual satisfaction left me in complete awe. all this while i thought that the Thai were probably the most friendly and welcoming people i had come across but the Balinese are equally (if not more) inviting. i could honestly live there forever, in my own little hut right on the beach, indulging in fresh, grilled seafood every night with chilled coconut water (i'd of course take occasional trips back into the city as we all know i cannot live without my tall buildings and bustling crowds). my trip consisted mainly of an abundance of sightseeing temples, palaces, forests and markets and here is a little glimpse of all things Bali:

fresh seafood dinner on the first night on a cliff by the sea in Tanah Lot

infamous Bali stone carvings at Le Meridien in Tanah Lot (where we stayed for the first two nights)

my room from the outside at Le Meridien

the golf course at Le Meridien, on macro mode

the Tanah Lot Temple in the distance, from Le Meridien

white stone carvings that you can find in almost every street in Bali

chickens! and little chicks that were too fast for me to capture

i fell in love with this little old man who very enthusiastically posed for me when i asked him for a photo

the Sacred Monkey Forest Sactuary

religious offerings: they had these all over the place in Bali; flowers and others in flat, banana leaf boxes
